Well alrighty then . . . . .

After several years of struggling with the PHOTOCRATI theme for my WordPress website, I gave up. I purchased it because they did a fair job (at the time) of displaying images and seemed to be photography centric. They also had a working integration of the Simple PayPal Shopping Cart. Over time I realized they were to be oriented toward wedding or portrait photographers and fell short for showing or selling fine art photography.

PHOTOCRATI promised a lot but in my opinion, rarely delivered what was promised and failed to meet their announced delivery dates. I’m not saying their theme won’t work for many photographers. To their credit, I have to say they fully refunded my purchase price long after their standard guarantee period. The theme just didn’t work for me and their promises of making it better just prolonged the redesign of my website month after month.

Finally, I scrapped everything and started with a fresh WordPress installation, a new theme and a hand full of plugins and I am pleased with the results.

Oops – Catastrophic FAIL on the website.

Oh dear. I was just wrapping up the development of the website on my beta sandbox site and moved some files to this one when BAM! the database became corrupted.

I’ve salvaged what I could and will be working over the next few days to get back to where I was and complete this new design.

Meanwhile, here’s a little sumpin sumpin for you to check out while I work.
